Johnny Manziel’s partying ways have overshadowed his time on the football field and someone has decided to step up to help him change his ways. Jake “The Snake” Roberts knows what it’s like to fall down, go to rehab to get clean and fall down again. Manziel’s incidents include a roadside fight with his girlfriend and videos showing him drinking alcohol even though the terms of his rehab prohibited from doing so.
“I’m trying to get ahold of Johnny Manziel, and I’m going to tell that boy, ‘You need to get on Antabuse,'” Roberts told Rolling Stone. “I understand where his head is at. I understand what it is to be Jake the Snake, or Johnny Football. You got all of these expectations from other people. Not just yourself, but other people. You start being the party guy for them.”
During the past several years, Roberts has been reinvigorated after getting sober thanks to the help of “Diamond” Dallas Page, his team at the Accountability Crib in Atlanta and DDP Yoga. “You can’t go hang out with a bunch of damn drug addicts and expect not to do drugs,” he says. “You can’t go in a bar and expect not to drink. So you have to find new things to do in life. Believe it or not, those new things are twice as much fun.”
Roberts also said that he would not mind being a mentor to Manziel. You can read more by clicking here.
