Reports of paranoia in WWE over public acknowledgement of injuries

Sasha Banks’ injury has been reported on some websites as an MCL injury. The injury occurred during her match with Becky Lynch on the 12/28 Raw in Brooklyn. The Wrestling Observer newsletter is only able to confirm that it is a lower body injury. As previously noted, even though she’s been out of action for the last couple of weeks and the injury has been confirmed by multiple people in WWE, she has gone on social media to downplay the reports. She is not outright saying that she is not injured but she is doing a play on words that comes across as a denial.

Rusev also denied his injury. His injury is not believed to be serious and he could be back in action by next week or at the Royal Rumble. Randy Orton told people on Instagram that they should rely on WWE.com as the main source for injury news. The funny thing about that is that WWE.com reported that Orton’s shoulder injury was caused by an attack by the Wyatt Family. In reality, his injury happened at home. Multiple people have confirmed that there is a ton of paranoia right now about public acknowledgement of injuries.

However, Paige (concussion) and Natalya (ankle) have publicly talked about their injuries.
