Batista was reportedly backstage at Sunday’s WWE Royal Rumble PPV for a meeting with Vince McMahon. Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that McMahon wants Batista to appear at WrestleMania 32. McMahon pitched an idea to Batista about making a one-off appearance at the event that would not involve him wrestling at the event.
Batista reportedly turned down the idea that was pitched but is still open to appearing at the event if creative comes up with a new idea. It should be noted that he is set to film “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2” next month.
Batista has said in the past that he is willing to return to the WWE, but only to work live events. Here is an excerpt from an interview he did with WWE.com back in November.
I miss it so much. What I really thought was so interesting is the way that Chris Jericho went back and did Live Events. Live Events are fun, man. It’s really just all about you and the audience. I always just loved that. I’m passionate about it. I’m proud to be a pro wrestler because I love it.
