Another WWE star suffers injury

Alberto Del Rio is currently dealing with a lower back injury, according to PWinsider.com.

As of this writing, it is not known when the injury occurred, but it had to be recent as he competed in the Royal Rumble match on Sunday night. Del Rio did not wrestle at Monday’s RAW and was not backstage at Tuesday’s SmackDown TV tapings.

Del Rio is advertised to wrestle at this weekend’s WWE live events so it will be interesting to see if he wrestles on those shows. The company is already thin on star power and the injuries are coming at the worst possible time with WrestleMania around the corner. When the news of Sheamus’ injury broke, Dave Meltzer noted that another top star was injured but he needed to confirm. I guess this is the confirmation. Hopefully the injury is not too serious.

We hope to have an update on his injury shortly.
