Update on Shane McMahon’s return to WWE, when did WWE contact him?

As noted, Shane McMahon returned to WWE television on RAW in the opening segment. It was announced that Shane McMahon will wrestle The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania 32. If Shane wins the match, then he gets control of WWE, but if The Undertaker wins then Vince McMahon gets full control.

Shane left the WWE in late 20o9 begin his own business ventures.

Dave Meltzer mentioned on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that Shane McMahon signed a new deal with WWE a few weeks ago, and the news was kept very quiet. It’s not known if Shane signed a deal that is only for him appear on WWE TV or if the deal means he is back with the company full-time and will work at WWE headquarters in Stamford.
