We reported last week that Shelton Benjamin would be returning to WWE. On this week’s Smackdown Live, WWE confirmed that Benjamin will be returning. A video featuring highlights from Benjamin’s previous WWE run aired. There’s no word on when his start date is but the graphic said that he would be “coming soon.”
Benjamin is one of several veterans that have been contacted. MVP is believed to have agreed to a deal and Stevie Richards is expected to be at the Performance Center soon and I believe Carlito has also been offered a deal. No word on whether Carlito and WWE have agreed to terms.
Benjamin first signed with WWE’s developmental system in 2000. During his 10+ year run with the company, he became a 3-time Intercontinental Champion, 2-time WWE Tag Team Champion with Charlie Haas and he’s a former United States Champion.
