The latest on MVP-WWE return rumors

We noted last week that MVP was one of the names being talked with about a return to WWE. I also noted that some of the names being talked with were being given low ball offers. I can sort of understand WWE’s reasoning behind this because most of the veterans being called are being brought back to put over younger talent and one person told me that there are no real long-term plans for some of these names, unless someone really catches on with the fans.

In the latest Wrestling Observer newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided an update on MVP. The impression being given is that he will not be returning. I don’t know if he was given a low-ball offer or if there’s another reason why. It’s not a dead issue so it’s still possible that something could be worked out but right now, he’s not signed and the impression is that he’s not coming back. Last week on the Gerweck Report podcast, Teddy Long said that MVP was signed and he had to go to Pittsburgh to get the standard medicals done. Long said, “I was with MVP this weekend and I talked to him and, as far as I know, he was going back. He did tell me that he signed and they were sending him to Pittsburgh. They send everybody to the doctors to check you out.”

MVP says that he has 2 or 3 years left in the ring and then he plans to open a bar and then write a book.
