WWE Monday Night Raw 8/15/16 results: Brock Lesnar appears, Rusev vs. Reigns

Welcome to the WWE Raw pre-show, and we are live on the WWE Network. Scott Stanford, Booker T, Lita, and Jerry Lawler hype what we will see tonight, which is Big Cass vs. Kevin Owens on Raw. Also hyped was Brock Lesnar appearing on the show. There was a backstage segment with Jinder Mahal and Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. Jinder noted that he would be wrestling Neville tonight on Raw.

Welcome to WWE Monday Night Raw, there is a recap video of last week’s episode of Raw. Seth Rollins is outside of the arena and cuts a promo about proving to the world that he is the man and his match with Finn Balor at SummerSlam. Rollins said that tonight he will handle Balor tonight and called out The Demon King right now. No one shows up, and Rollins expected it. Rollins said that he would find the demon. Rusev with Lana is in the ring. Rusev cut a promo about Roman Reigns and how Reigns interrupted their wedding celebration. Rusev announced that there would be no RAW tonight until Reigns comes down to the ring and apologizes. Instead, Mick Foley walks down to the ring. Rusev said that Foley is no RAW GM without him. Rusev demands respect from Foley. Foley to get out of the ring. Rusev wants Stephanie McMahon to come out and handle this. She does walk out to the ring. Stephanie was upset with the lack of respect Rusev was showing Foley because of all of his dedication to WWE. Rusev didn’t know who Foley was and wanted respect. Rusev threatens to sign with SmackDown. This led to Reigns walking down to the ring and apologized that he was sorry that Rusev found his wife on the internet. Reigns think that Rusev and Lana will make some ugly babies. Reigns said that he doesn’t want to wait until SummerSlam and wants to fight now. Stephanie said that this match would take place at SummerSlam. Foley booked Reigns vs. Rusev tonight to defend Lana’s honor.

-Commercial Break-

Sheamus cut a promo in the ring about being more dominant than Sami Zayn. Sheamus said that he doesn’t look stupid, and the fans are. Sheamus said that Zayn means nothing to him and is just a cheap rip-off of him.

Singles Match: Sheamus vs. Sami Zayn.

They start brawling to begin the match. Sheamus knocked him down and kicked him in the back and hit a knee drop for 2. Zayn fought back with a shoulder block and then hit a hurricanronna. Zayn went for an outside dive, but Sheamus caught him and sent him into the ring post.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Sheamus having Zayn in a headlock. Zayn fought out, but Sheamus cut him off with a slam. Zayn sent Sheamus to the floor, but Sheamus hit him in the knee and landed a series of clubbing shots. Zayn with a big clothesline to send Sheamus to the floor. Zayn hit an outside dive taking out Sheamus. Zayn went to the top rope but missed a dive. Sheamus hit White Noise for 2. Zayn hit a powerbomb for 2. Cesaro walked to the ring and distracted Sheamus allowing Zayn to hit a big boot for the win.

Winner: Zayn.

Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho did a backstage segment to hype their match with Big Cass and Enzo Amore at SummerSlam.

-Commercial Break-

There is a backstage segment with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson making fun of Big E’s storyline injury.

Tag Team Match: The New Day vs. The Dudley Boyz.

The Dudleys beat down Woods in the early going. Woods fought back and tagged in Kingston. Kofi hit Trouble in Paradise for the win.

Winners: The New Day

Post-match, New Day cut a promo about retaining the Tag Team Titles at SummerSlam.

-Commercial Break-

There was a backstage segment with Rollins looking for Balor. Rollins walked up to Neville and Neville told Rollins that he is not ready for Balor.

Singles Match: Nia Jax vs. Rachael Levy

Jax with a big clothesline and followed it up with a leg drop.

Winner: Jax.

-Commercial Break-

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman walked down to the ring. Before Heyman could even say anything. Heath Slater walked out. Heyman told Slater that he needs to stop listening to the voices in his head. Slater said that he is the hottest free agent in sports entertainment today and said he needed to talk to Heyman. Heyman laughed him and told him that. Heyman wouldn’t consider advocating for Slater. Slater said he is getting another shot with the RAW brand, and all he has to do is beat Lesnar tonight. Slater asked if he could wrestle Lesnar. Heyman told him that the joke is over and wanted things to get back to where the money is. Heyman hyped Lesnar, but Slater interrupted and told Heyman not to disrespect him. Slater said that he has kids to provide for. Slater knows he is going to get his ass kicked, but he has to do this. Heyman said that he is trying to save him. Lesnar said he could appreciate Slater’s guts. Lesnar knows what Slater is feeling because he has kids too. Lesnar said he didn’t give a shit about his kids and dropped the microphone. Lesnar told Slater he has two choices. One. Leave the ring or two keeping pissing him off. Lesnar clotheslines Slater and hit a german suplex. Lesnar hit an F-5 to Slater. Heyman put on Slater’s glasses and gave him credit for trying to fight Lesnar because that is something that Randy Orton doesn’t have the manhood to do. Heyman said that Orton cannot measure up to Lesnar. Heyman said that he is a hype artist and is supposed to hype Orton up and has a chance against Lesnar. Lesnar doesn’t believe that Orton can beat him. Heyman said that this is Lesnar’s summer and vowed that Lesnar would massacre Orton at SummerSlam. Heyman believes Lesnar is the box office for SummerSlam. Heyman explained that fans get to see the greatest athlete in action on the WWE Network at SummerSlam and that is why you should buy the WWE Network.

Singles Match: Big Cass vs. Kevin Owens.

They lock up, and Cass sent him to the floor. Owens used the top rope to his advantage and sent him to the floor. Jericho with a cheap shot to Cass.

-Commercial Break-

Cass hit a body slam in the corner as we got back from break. Cass sent him to the floor, but Owens took him out. Cass reversed a powerbomb and hit a back drop. Jericho pushed Cass into the barricade causing the DQ.

Winner: Cass via DQ.

Post-match, Jericho, and Owens attacked Cass.

Reigns cut a backstage promo about kicking Rusev’s ass. Rusev attacked Reigns from behind, and they brawl in the back. They were separated by security.

-Commercial Break-

Tag Team Match: The Shining Stars vs. The Prime Time Players.

Young and Primo started things off. Young tagged in O’Neal, who missed a splash. Epico was tagged in and put the boots to the big man. O’Neal fought back and hit a power slam. Young was tagged in and hit a splash. O’Neal turned on Young and hit a powerbomb. Epico pinned Young for the win.

Winners: The Shining Stars

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Jinder Mahal vs. Neville.

They lock up, and Neville sent him to the floor. Neville hit an outside dive and tossed Mahal back into the ring. Neville went to the top rope, but Mahal begged for mercy. Mahal hit a superkick for 2. Mahal with a drop kick for 2. Neville fought back and hit the Red Arrow for the win.

Winner: Neville.

There was a backstage segment with Rollins, Foley, and McMahon. Rollins wanted the night off after looking for Balor. Foley wanted Rollins to call out Balor in the ring. Rollins said he wasn’t scared and that he would.

-Commercial Break-

Rollins walked out to the ring and called out Balor. Rollins claimed that Balor is scared of him, and no one can touch him. A fan got in the ring, and Rollins pushed him away. The lights went out, and Balor walked out to the ring dressed up as the demon. Balor attacked Rollins then hit an outside dive. Balor stood tall in the ring as Rollins walked to the back.

-Commercial Break-

Tag Team Match: Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows vs. The Golden Truth.

Anderson and Gallows quickly hit their finisher to Goldust.

Winners: Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows

Post-match, New Day ran down and attacked The Club.

There was a backstage segment with Charlotte and Dana Brooke. Brooke tried to apologize to Charlotte for losing to Banks last week. Charlotte wasn’t having any of it and told her that she would find a replacement. Charlotte then hyped her match with Alicia Fox.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Charlotte vs. Alicia Fox with Sasha Banks on commentary.

Charlotte attacked her and hit the Natural Selection for the win. Very quick win.

Winner: Charlotte.

Post-match, Banks, and Charlotte brawled in the ring. Charlotte locked in the Figure Eight Leg Lock until referees broke it up.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Rusev vs. Roman Reigns.

They brawl right out of the gate, and we cut to break quickly.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back, and they’re still brawling. Reigns hit a samoan drop. Reigns followed up with a clothesline, but Rusev cut him off and tossed him to the floor. Rusev sent him into the barricade.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Reigns fighting back and hit several clotheslines in the corner. Reigns went for a Superman punch but Rusev reversed and hit a spin kick for 2. Rusev with a flying head butt for 2. Rusev hit another one and Reigns kicked out. Rusev and Reigns exchange right hands. Reigns clotheslines him out of the ring. Rusev kicked Reigns in the ribs and then tossed him back into the ring. Rusev ran into a Superman Punch and Reigns only got a 2 count. Reigns went for another Superman Punch but Rusev reversed and kicked him in the head. Rusev with the Accolade but Reigns fought out. Reigns hit a spear for the win.

Winner: Reigns.

Reigns celebrated in the ring to close the show.
