We’ve gotten emails asking about Paige’s status in WWE following her wellness policy violation. Paige, who is out for 30 days, will not be leaving WWE even though there is heavy speculation that Alberto Del Rio will be leaving next month. We’ve noted before that Del Rio has an out clause in his contract that would allow him to leave the company in mid-September. The feeling among people that know Del Rio is that he is leaning towards leaving. He has a big money contract so I don’t think WWE would be too upset if he chose to leave since they haven’t exactly been doing much with him creatively since he returned late last year.
Dave Meltzer noted on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that Paige has years left on her contract so you shouldn’t expect her to leave anytime soon and I doubt WWE would just allow her to walk into TNA or ROH if she wanted to leave before her contract expires. I should also note that Paige is one of the featured characters in the animated movie “Surfs Up 2: WaveMania” (set to be released in the spring of 2017) and she is part of the upcoming season of Total Divas so that should shut down any rumors about her contract status with the company.
