More on the new ROH Championship, injured star returning soon, Truth Martini news

– As noted, Ring of Honor announced earlier this week that the inaugural ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions would be crowned in an eight-team tournament that begins at the All Star Extravaganza PPV event in Lowell, MA on September 30th. The finals of the tournament will take place at the Final Battle pay-per-view event on December 2nd at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York.

ROH has been considering adding the new championship since last year and the idea to create them was before NJPW made their Six-Man Tag Team Championship public. ROH actually had the physical belt made a long time ago.

– Matt Taven will be returning to action soon. Taven suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), a ruptured lateral meniscus and a torn medial meniscus while executing a Spike Piledriver at the 2015 Final Battle PPV event. Taven is scheduled to work an event in Mexico on 9/16 before returning to the ring for ROH.

– Truth Martini was written of off TV earlier this year so that he could have neck surgery, with the plan being that he would return at Death Before Dishonor PPV. However, plans changed when Jay Lethal turned babyface, and there was no longer a role for him. Martini is no longer under contract with ROH.
