As noted last week, the Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton rematch will take place on the 9/24 house show in Chicago’s All-State Arena. It’s strange that they would put that match on a house show instead of a pay-per-view or a WWE Network special. It’s not being advertised as a network special but it’s still possible that WWE can turn it into a special. Clash Of Champions takes place on the following night in Indianapolis.
Orton and Lesnar are not scheduled for the Clash show in Indianapolis, according to the Wrestling Observer newsletter. The Observer reports that Lesnar was asked to do the house show in Chicago and he agreed and it was decided to do Chicago instead of Indianapolis because his contract calls for different compensation for house shows.
Lesnar’s previous house show matches are squashes. For the upcoming show in Chicago, Lesnar chose the best available person on that night that he felt would mean the most for ticket sales.
