Jim Ross: I’m still confident that Bray Wyatt will develop into a main event talent

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a new blog entry over at his website where he gives his thoughts on Monday’s episode of RAW and Tuesday’s edition of SmackDown Live. As seen on RAW, Sasha Banks teased her retirement from pro wrestling during an in-ring promo but ended up challenging Charlotte for the WWE Women’s Title at Clash of Champions pay-per-view event.

“Sasha’s promo felt more authentic than most pro wrestling promos these days. Never quite connected on the retirement aspect.”

Chris Jericho and Seth Rollins wrestled each other on RAW. Ross believes that Rollins turning into a babyface will be successful.

“Solid match, Jericho vs Rollins as Seth is moving toward being a fan favorite. Rollins has long since worked as a face for the most part so his official transition to that of a fan favorite should be successful.”

Bray Wyatt is set to wrestle Randy Orton at this Sunday’s Backlash pay-per-view event on the WWE Network. Ross still thinks Wyatt can be a main event talent.

“I still remain confident that Bray Wyatt will develop into a main event level, character face some day.”

The main event of Backlash will be a WWE Title match between AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose. Ross noted that he wouldn’t mind seeing Styles as WWE Champion.

“Good dynamic between Styles & Ambrose to close the show. Wouldn’t offend me to see AJ win the title Sunday.”

The third season of Lucha Underground premieres on Wednesday night on the El Rey Network. Ross said that he has been told that this is the best season of the show so far.

“Wishing Lucha Underground the best of luck as they launch season three of their unique presentation. I’m told that this season is the best yet.”

Ross also talked about CM Punk’s UFC debut and more. You can read the entire blog here. If you haven’t done so, you can listen to the latest episode of the Ross Report here:
