WWE Cruiserweight Champion crowned at the CWC finale

An incredible Cruiserweight Classic tournament was capped off by a fantastic finale on the WWE Network. The night kicked off with Gran Metalik defeating Zack Sabre, Jr. in an excellent semi-finals match.

TJ Perkins defeated Kota Ibushi in another semi-finals match. It was an upset win because Ibushi was considered to be the favorite to win everything but if you’ve been following our posts on Ibushi, he is not expected to sign a full-time deal right now so it made sense to put Perkins over.

They gave us a bonus match with Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano against Cedric Alexander and Noam Dar. Gargano and Ciampa, under the new team name of #DIY, won their match.

Before the final match, Triple H came out and announced that the winner of the CWC finals will be the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion. He will be taking that title to the Raw brand this Monday night. Perkins defeated Metalik to become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion. If you missed this show, then I would strongly recommend for you to watch it On Demand on the WWE Network.
