D-Von Dudley might be coming back to WWE in a new role

The Dudley Boyz may be done with WWE as in-ring competitors but, while Bubba Ray Dudley continues working on the independent scene, D-Von Dudley might be on his way back to WWE in a new role. Dave Meltzer is reporting that there is talk of D-Von taking a job as an agent with the company.

Quite frankly, he would be a great fit working with the younger talent. By all accounts, he was very well-liked backstage among the talent and he already has years of experience as a trainer/coach because he, along with Bubba, own the Team 3D Wrestling Academy in Florida.

Bubba and D-Von returned to the company last year after spending 10+ years with TNA and the belief was that they wouldn’t be welcome back in the WWE family because of heat that Bubba had with guys like Randy Orton during their early 2000’s run but it seems like all of that is water under the bridge and both Bubba and D-Von are on good terms with WWE. I am sort of surprised that they weren’t given a bigger push since the Raw and Smackdown tag team divisions lack depth but the company directive seems to be to use veterans to help put over younger talent. It’s a shame because Bubba Ray, as the Bully Ray character, could have given them an awesome singles run as a top heel.

Bubba Ray Dudley is now back to using the Bully Ray name on the independent scene and he made a surprise appearance at last weekend’s House Of Hardcore show after the Matt Hardy/Tommy Dreamer main event. Bubba even teased going after Matt in TNA so I wouldn’t be shocked if he ended up with them again.
