– For those who are wondering if TNA will make changes at this week’s TV tapings in Orlando, FL, it was reported by PWinsider that the feeling within in the company is that they just need to get through these tapings and make it to the next set of tapings that are planned for March, so it’s not expected that any changes will be made regarding the direction of the company at the upcoming tapings this week. Also, there will not be any surprise appearances at the tapings, which is something that the company has done in the past.
– As noted site, there have been talks between Jeff Jarrett and Ed Norholm of Anthem Media, which is the soon to be the parent company of TNA Wrestling. The talks have been preliminary thus far, and it’s being said that they are just looking for background information. The last that we heard was that there is no sign of a deal being reach between Jarrett and TNA that would see him return to the company that he founded. It will be interesting to see if Jarrett is backstage at the tapings as he was in Florida earlier this week on a family vacation.
– Also, there is some speculation about Davey Richards returning to action this week. Back on November 1st, Richards seemed to be teasing retirement from professional wrestling on Twitter. He noted that “2017 is the last year.” He has been out of action after getting surgery in February for a torn ACL, which happened last January. A typical ACL injury will sideline an athlete for 6-9 months, so he should be clear to return to the ring. TNA has announced that World Heavyweight Champion Eddie Edwards would defend the title on Thursday’s episode of Impact Wrestling, but his opponent has yet to be announced. TNA is teasing that he could face Bobby Lashley, EC3 or a mystery opponent. Richards just might be that mystery opponent.
