Kazuchika Okada on wrestling Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 11, Omega says WWE Title has no prestige

Kazuchika Okada successfully defended the IWGP Heavyweight Title against Kenny Omega in the main event of Wednesday’s Wrestle Kingdom 11 show in Tokyo, Japan at the Tokyo Dome. After the match, both Okada and Omega spoke with Justin Barrasso of SI.com about the match and more. During the interview, Omega stated that the IWGP Heavyweight Title means more to him than the WWE Championship. “The WWE belt means nothing, it means absolutely nothing. They pass around that belt like a hot potato. I probably have a neighbor on my block who held that belt at one point. There is no prestige to that belt whatsoever.”

When asked about facing Omega at the event, Okada stated that he hasn’t wrestled as dangerous of a guy as Omega and that he needed to show his other face in this match. He noted that he is still hurting from pain in his neck from Omega’s One-Winged Angel maneuver that he performed last month on a table.

Okada believes that he should hold the IWGP Heavyweight Title always and that he’ll fight in many cities and many countries to earn his title on the next stage. “I’m the best, not Omega. I love New Japan more than Omega, and I will continue to prove that.”
