WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens recently took part in a ‘One Word’ segment with ESPN’s Jonathan Coachman. When asked about Chris Jericho, Owens said that he is a friend and that he looked up to Jericho for so many years while he was on the indy scene. He noted that he was a WWE fan growing up and that he watched Jericho on WWE TV. Owens noted that to be by his side with Jericho on RAW every week is something special.
When asked about Goldberg, he said that he sees him as the enemy because when he was growing up, he thought that Goldberg was the figurehead of WCW or the poster boy for the company.
When asked about winning the Universal Championship, he said that it was fulfilling but that he could use a lot of words, to sum up that moment. He noted that he had been told by several people that he wouldn’t make it to WWE let alone be the WWE Champion but here he is.
