As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Roman Reigns defended the United States Championship in a handicap match against Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens. The storyline of the match was that it was an uphill battle because Reigns was attacked before the match began and he had to fight the odds after the match officially began.
Towards the end of the match, Jericho hit Reigns with a codebreaker while Owens had Reigns tied up in the ropes and then Owens hit Reigns with the powerbomb on the ring apron. That was followed up by another codebreaker from Jericho and that was enough for Jericho to get the pin.
Reigns will challenge for Owens’ WWE Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble on 1/29 with Jericho suspended over the ring in a shark cage.
