A few months ago, WWE Champion AJ Styles stated that he would like to wrestle WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels at the Royal Rumble PPV event in San Antonio, Texas, which sparked speculation that Michaels would come out of retirement for one more match. He retired from pro wrestling following his match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 26 in 2010. Obviously, Styles vs. Michaels at Royal Rumble is not happening as Styles is set to defend the WWE Championship against John Cena at the event. There have also been rumors that Michaels would be appearing at the event in a non-physical role.
Michaels has been making the media rounds to promote his role in “The Resurrection of Gavin Stone” movie and TMZ Sports caught up with him in New York City recently. When asked about wrestling one more time, Michaels remained adamant that his in-ring career is over. “No, not if I can help it,” Michaels said.
