WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a new blog entry over at his website where he gives his thoughts on various topics. During the blog, Ross commented on the passing of Jimmy Snuka. “Sad to hear of the passing of Jimmy Snuka due to complications with his battle with stomach cancer. The WWE Hall of Famer was a magnificent athlete with natural instincts who was a star in every area that he worked.” He noted that Snuka’s passing was overshadowed by the dismissed murder charges against him. Snuka was charged for the death of Nancy Argentino, but due to his health, the charges against him were dropped. He noted that Snuka was always polite and professional to him. He said that Snuka had a lot of amazing accomplishments in his life. “Nonetheless the allegations of murder have marred his professional legacy even though there was no trial and the charges were dropped in 2016.”
The WWE UK Championship tournament took place this past weekend and saw Tyler Bate defeat Pete Dunne in the finals to win the first ever WWE UK Championship. Ross said that he watched both days of the tournament and enjoyed them. He praised Michael Cole and Nigel McGuinness for being stellar as a commentary team. “Enjoyed the underdog winning the tournament, the interactive and jacked up live audience, the TV production was excellent, and the overall in-ring product was solid and at times stellar.” He said that Bate is a fine young prospect as champion and someone who seems to be fundamentally sound and understanding of the basic psychology of the pro wrestling business well beyond his youth. He thinks that Dunne is a natural villain and had a distinguished tournament. He added that Dunne is someone who WWE should keep from the tournament. “Between Paul Levesque, William Regal and company this group produces great TV which would include the NXT shows.”
Ross also talked about Wrestle Kingdom 11 and more. You can read the entire blog here. If you haven’t done so, you can listen to the latest episode of the Ross Report by clicking here.
