Update on The Undertaker’s hip surgery, pending hip replacement when he retires

As noted last year, The Undertaker was seen in photos walking around with crutches because he underwent minor hip surgery prior to his return to television in November. He has been dealing with knee, hip and back injuries since the late 90’s and there was always talk since that timeframe about retirement but he always pushed through. When he lost to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX it was because he and Vince McMahon thought that it would be his last match. He also told people backstage at last year’s WrestleMania that he had wrestled his last match but he obviously had a change of heart and he’ll be involved in the Royal Rumble match and at WrestleMania in Orlando.

The Wrestling Observer newsletter reports that Taker’s hip issues are temporarily taken care of but he will eventually need a full hip replacement but that is something that he is trying to put off until he is retired.

For those of you who have asked, The Undertaker’s WrestleMania opponent is not going to be Braun Strowman even though they seemed to tease that a couple of weeks ago and that was the original plan for last year’s WrestleMania in Dallas.
