Perry Saturn talks about leaving WCW for WWE, working with Chris Jericho, more

Former ECW, WCW and WWE Superstar Perry Saturn recently appeared on Talk is Jericho to talk about various topics. During the interview, he was asked about his dress match with Jericho in WCW. Saturn noted that if he won then, Jericho would be off TV but if Jericho won then he had to wear a dress. He said that he came up with the Marilyn Manson gimmick after he had to wear the dress and had no idea he was going to wear it. He was trying to have Eric Bischoff keep Jericho off TV, but Bischoff wanted Jericho to stay at home because he was about to leave WCW and go to WWE. Saturn wanted to keep Jericho on board for at least two more pay per views, instead of not using Jericho. At the pay per view, he said that Bishoff wasn’t there and Kevin Nash was in control and asked what they were doing in the match. He said that he thinks it would be kind of cool to see Saturn in a dress and booked the match. Nash told them that he would take the heat if there were any.

When asked whether the Radicalz had any conversations with the WWE before going there, Saturn said no and that once Mike Graham pulled the knife out, they knew that they were getting their releases, and that was when they spoke with Vince McMahon and then Jeff Marek, who was the person that they negotiated with. He noted that Marek was close with Bruce Prichard and that they talked with Richard a few times. Prichard told them they if they wanted to join WWE then WWE would love to talk to them. “Originally, it was me, Dean, Chris, Eddie, Shane [Douglas], Konnan, and Rey Mysterio. Vince didn’t want Konnan and Rey Mysterio but would take them. He wouldn’t take Shane [Douglas] for nothing.” He noted that when they were talking with Prichard, Douglas was trying to tell Bill Bush that he would talk to them and make them stay with WCW. “I’m not sure why Vince didn’t want Konnan or Rey Mysterio but would take them if the deal depended on it, but we were the four that he wanted. I talked with Eddie [Guerrero], he said, I don’t know brother, just talk to me when the deal is ready to go.” He then noted that he, Malenko and Guerrero told Bush that they quit. Bush didn’t know what to do other than having them stay.
