Former WCW Tag Team Champion Stevie Ray of Harlem Heat recently appeared on the “Murder Master Music Show” with Prez and Mac Jay to talk about various topics. During the interview, he was asked about the passing of Jimmy Snuka. He said that Snuka was always someone who would come up and was cordial. He said that Snuka left a big impact on the business and someone who would encourage other wrestlers to keep working on their craft. He said that in pro wrestling, the business is rough and that the way wrestlers live their lives is something that will shorten their lives and die young.
When asked about Booker T calling Hulk Hogan a “n—a” on live WCW pay-per-view, he noted that they had to cut a promo earlier in the day before the PPV event went live and that they were told by production people that they had to redo the promo because someone messed it up. They had to do the promo live on pay-per-view, which is something that wasn’t done at the time due to the chances of a mess up. They were upset by that. Ray noted that they were talking in the corner and he said that they don’t have anything to do with Hogan. So now they were trying to think about what they were going to say about him. He noted that Booker calling Hogan the N word went viral for years. He noted that he was trying to keep a straight face during it was he was trying to focus and didn’t pay attention to what Booker T was saying. Booker T told him afterward that he messed up and thinks that Booker T was thinking about two different things at the same time. He noted that if they did it in a pre-tape then they could just start over and there would not have been a problem.
