Sabu rips WWE’s Hall of Fame, comments on working with John Cena

Former WWE/ECW/WCW/TNA star Sabu recently spoke with Justin Barrasso of SI.com about his career and more. During the interview, he was asked about inducting The Sheik into the 2007 WWE Hall of Fame Class. “It’s such a fake Hall of Fame,” said Sabu. “I’d only do it because I need the money. I don’t know if I would mother— everyone or if I would take it graciously, but I don’t consider it a real Hall of Fame.” He said that it’s not like the Baseball or Football Hall of Fame. He thinks that the WWE Hall of Fame only has stuff from WWE and not other promotions. He added that if you didn’t work for WWE, then you’re not in the Hall of Fame and that it has nothing to do with a wrestlers accomplishment in pro wrestling but rather if WWE owns the wrestler.

Sabu made his WWE debut in 2006 as part of ECW, but the run only lasted thirteen months. He noted that he had a little regret with not going to WWE earlier than he did but that he is happy where he is at now. He said that a few things that he wishes he could’ve done some things differently in his career, but for the most part, he did things his way and achieved some things along the way.

During his run with the company, he feuded with John Cena. Sabu noted that he got a lot of flack before he wrestled Cena but after the feud was over then he didn’t get any flack as Cena was good in the ring. He noted that a lot of wrestlers mock Cena as an in-ring performer, but he thinks that he is a good wrestler.

Sabu also talked about Paul Heyman, Vince McMahon and more. You can read the entire interview here.
