Goldberg explains why he decided to wrestle again after Survivor Series, comments on Royal Rumble

Goldberg recently spoke with Brian Fritz of Sporting News to promote this Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view event. During the interview, he was asked what convinced him to wrestle again after Survivor Series in November in which he defeated Brock Lesnar. He said that the reaction of his son and wife, as well as the crowd, made him continue to want to wrestle. He said that he greatly appreciated it more than anybody knows. He is humbled to be back, and it just makes him want to go out there and work harder. He noted that on Monday he was in Cleveland for RAW and was up at 5:00 AM to workout for the first time that day. He noted that he is addicted to training and is extremely lucky. “Vince McMahon has opened his doors, and I’m back at home. It’s a different experience this time.”

When asked about competing in the Royal Rumble match again, he said that he can’t remember that far back (2004 was his first and only Royal Rumble match). He said that anytime you have more than two or four guys in the ring let alone 30 that you want to keep your eyes open at all times. He said that he is not someone who has a game plan and that makes him bring his game to its highest level. He said that he doesn’t care that there are 29 other guys in the match because he is going to take them all out. “It’s going to be an honor. There’s a couple of guys that I’ve never been in the ring with before. I will be looking very much forward to introducing them to me.”

Goldberg also talked about WrestleMania, The Undertaker and more. You can read the entire interview here.
