Despite reports to the contrary, Conor McGregor says that negotiations with WWE are ongoing. It’s no secret that WWE would love to have him on board for WrestleMania 33 in Orlando. There were reports going around on Saturday saying that McGregor turned down a ‘hefty’ offer from WWE. That may be true but McGregor says that talks are still ongoing.
FOX Sports quoted McGregor as saying, “Never say never. I know there’s been conversations.” He added, “I know Triple H was at the show (UFC 205). I’d love to go to that WWE and have a real knock. Let one of them have a real knock and see what’s what. We’ll see.”
He confirmed that he turned some things down before (perhaps a previous money offer). He said, “There’s conversations ongoing. I’ve turned down some things, conversations still ongoing.”
McGregor continues to make headlines with his public spats with Floyd Mayweather. Both sides want to make that fight happen but they seem to be far apart on money, despite an offer from Dana White of $25 million for each of them. During his iPPV Q&A session in front of 5,000 fans on Saturday, he also revealed that he is going to launch McGregor Promotions and he turned down a role in the reboot of “Predator.”
