John Cena defeated AJ Styles to become 16-time World Champion at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. This match ranks up there with their previous encounters and there were tons of near falls. Cena even tried some new moves. It was a fantastic match.
Both men kicked out of several of their finishers and the crowd was super hot for everything. Styles even kicked out after getting hit with a Super AA off the top rope. Cena finally hit 2 AA’s in succession and then got the pin to become the new WWE Champion. Cena will go on to defend the title at next month’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view so it’s not guaranteed that he will be champion by WrestleMania.
