Jim Ross on Rock ‘n Roll Express being inducted into WWE HOF, Big Show vs. Shaq O’Neal, XFL documentary

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a new blog entry over at his website where he gives his thoughts on various topics. During the blog, Ross commented on the Rock ‘n Roll Express being inducted into WWE Hall of Fame. “When I first heard several days ago that the Rock ‘n Roll Express were going to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame I was both surprised and happy. Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson are as good as any baby face tag team that I ever worked with in my 40+ year career.” He said that their bouts in Mid-South Wrestling against The Midnight Expressed helped pop a big man’s territory with record-setting business. He noted that he would love to see Jim Cornette induct the tag team into the Hall of Fame as Cornette knows them more than anyone and because Cornette is a magnificent talker who he thinks would captivate the audience. Ross suggested that fans should watch any of the many Midnight Express vs. Rock ‘n Roll Express bouts that they can find as they’re classic matches.

Ross brought up The Big Show vs. Shaq O’Neal match at WrestleMania 33. He said that he feels that the gigantic duo would be able to produce a much better attraction/presentation if they were tag partners and were pitted against a team that could enhance the skill sets of the two big men.

Finally, he brought up the XFL documentary on ESPN that aired last week, which was great. He said that he enjoyed it and it brought back memories of how he got promoted to the NBC primary game on week two with Governor Ventura. He said that he has many stories about his season in the XFL and would love to have shared some of them, but he noted that he was never contacted by ESPN to be part of the documentary. “I have no XFL regrets even though I pushed myself physically to the limits that were ill advised especially after the fact that year for a whopping $1500 per game.”

Ross also talked about Shawn Michaels and more. You can read the entire blog here. If you haven’t done so, you can listen to the latest episode of the Ross Report by clicking here.
