Former Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion Eddie Edwards recently spoke with RealSport about various topics. During the interview, he was asked about Kurt Angle. Edwards stated that Angle is amazing and one of if not the greatest wrestler of all time. He praised Angle for being an amazing person as well. He noted that Angle never held anything back when he was wrestling in the promotion no matter what the size of the crowd was. He noted that Angle would help other wrestlers with their matches and give them pointers. “An Olympic gold medalist, everything he’s done in pro wrestling. To still have that passion to do it… to work that hard outside the ring and work that hard inside the ring.”
When asked about Impact Wrestling’s new ownership, he stated that he thinks it’s a good start for it to happen now as it is the new year and a new beginning. He noted that the people in charge of the promotion truly believe in their product and that the people working for them believe in them. He noted that this is a true time where everybody in the promotion is on the same page and going in the same direction. He thinks that you can tell that by looking at the guys in the ring and when they’re performing as they want to deliver the best matches that they can. He added that if that weren’t the case, then people wouldn’t be risking their life in the ring.
Edwards also discussed his feud with Bobby Lashley and more. You can read the entire interview here.
