WWE has announced that Teddy Long will be inducted in the 2017 class of the WWE Hall Of Fame. Long’s career spans 4 decades. He got his big break in the wrestling business as a referee in Jim Crockett Promotions and worked his way up as the manager of Ron Simmons and Butch Reed (Doom) by 1989. He later went ou to manage names like Ice Train, Sgt. Craig Pittman, and Johnny B. Badd. He was phased out of WCW around 1997.
In the late 90’s he was hired as a referee for the World Wrestling Federation and then as a manager where he managed names like D-Lo Brown, Rodney Mack, Jazz, Chris Nowinski, Mark Henry and Mark Jindrak. Fans may know him best for his run as Smackdown General Manager. Long joins Kurt Angle and The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express as part of the class of 2017. Other names rumored to be going in include Ravishing Rick Rude and Diamond Dallas Page.
