Large number of teenage girls turned off Raw before Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair main event

As noted earlier this week, Monday Night Raw, headlined by Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women’s Championship, averaged 3,107,000 viewers. The big story within the ratings is that there was a big decline among teenage girls. 38 percent of teenage girls changed the channel or turned their TV’s off before the third hour. That is shockingly low compared to other weeks.

The third hour was down among adult women aged 18-49 by 14 percent, which is less of a drop from last week’s 22 percent. Among men, the third hour was down by three percent, which is not bad compared to most weeks and not far off from last week’s 2 percent drop. The 38 percent drop among teenage girls is the number that is concerning because the company is clearly looking at Bayley as their female version of John Cena that can draw in kids. Either Bayley is not drawing in teenage girls and/or something else turned them off to the show but the thing is that there were a lot of people that normally stick around for the third hour that didn’t stick around this past week.

Here is the hourly breakdown of the Raw viewership from this week:

Raw hour 1 – 3,199,000 viewers
Raw hour 2 – 3,153,000 viewers
Raw hour 3 – 2,909,000 viewers
