Finn Balor made his return to NXT on Wednesday night at the NXT TV tapings in Orlando, FL. After the final match of the tapings, Bobby Roode and Andrade “Cien” Almas beat down Shinsuke Nakamura in the ring, which led to Balor running out to make the save. Once Balor and Nakamura had cleared the ring, Balor said that he is not medically cleared yet after having shoulder surgery last August but noted that he would be back sooner rather than later to take what is his. Balor then sang happy birthday to Nakamura, whose birthday is this Friday.
Balor doesn’t have a match locked in for WrestleMania 33 so, perhaps, he will be inserted into the main event at NXT Takeover: Orlando before he moves back up to the main roster. That would be a good way to use him during WrestleMania weekend. As noted, Balor is advertised for some RAW live events next month.
It’s always possible that this was a dark segment although fans at the arena got the impression that this was being taped for NXT TV.
