Former Ring of Honor World Champion Kyle O’Reilly made his NXT debut at this week’s TV tapings in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University.
Rumors about O’Reilly going to WWE have been out there since he lost the ROH World Championship to Adam Cole at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 11 in January. The word was that WWE was interested in him but there was a waiting period in between his ROH deal expiring and before WWE would want to approach him with an offer because of accusations of tampering with previous ROH stars. He was also dealing with a family member that was dealing with an illness.
In addition to being a World Champion in ROH, O’Reilly is also a former 3-time ROH World Tag Team Champion with former partner Bobby Fish. Fish made his debut on this week’s episode of NXT. The next former ROH star expected in WWE in the near future is Adam Cole. Also, Lio Rush is also expected to sign soon, if he hasn’t already done so.
O’Reilly lost to Aleister Black in a singles match at the tapings.
