Welcome to the WWE Battleground pre-show, and we are live on the WWE Network. Renee Young, Sam Roberts, David Otunga, and Jerry Lawler consist of the panel. Mike & Maria Kanellis will be appearing on the social media lounge. A video package to hype the John Cena – Rusev match was shown. Cena was interviewed backstage. He cut a promo about how he is ready and prepared for a fight. He vowed to defend the United States and beat Rusev. Carmella joined the panel to talk about the #1 contender match tonight. AJ Styles and Kevin Owens cut backstage promos to hype their US Title Match. Mike & Maria Kanellis took fan questions in the social media lounge. They talked about their love and the power that comes with it.

Singles Match (Kickoff Show): Aiden English vs. Tye Dillinger

They lock up and Dillinger knocked him down. Dillinger with a series of chops but Englished knocked him down with an elbow followed by a knee strike to the back.

We’re back from break with English in control of Dillinger. Moments later, Dillinger caught him with a spinebuster for 2. English hit a crossbody but Dillinger rolled through and pinned him for 2. English hit a power slam for 2. English went for Dillinger’s move but Dillinger blocked it and rolled him up for 2. English missed a dive in the corner and Dillinger landed a series of right hands. English sent him face first into the turnbuckle then hit his finisher for the win.

Winner: English.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos © vs. The New Day

Kingston and Jey started things out. Kingston hit a drop kick then tagged in Woods, who hit a splash off the middle rope for 2. Jimmy got the blind tag, and Jey landed a series of right hands then double teamed him. The Usos worked over Woods until he fought back with a drop kick off the top rope and got the hot tag to Kingston. This led to Kingston hitting a series of chops and strikes to The Usos. Kingston hit the boom drop to Jimmy then got the crowd fired up.

Kingston missed a kick and took out Jey. He sent Jimmy to the floor then hit an outside dive to The Usos, but they caught him and power bombed him on the floor. Woods is now legal, and they hit him with a double uppercut. Back in the ring, Jimmy went to the top rope and missed a dive. Woods hit a rolling slam for 2. Jimmy sent him into the turnbuckle then tagged in Jey, who hit a samoan drop for 2. Woods hit him with a back elbow, and Jimmy was tagged in. Woods went for a springboard elbow drop, but Jimmy caught him with a super kick out of nowhere for a near fall. Jimmy locked in a single leg boston crab, but Woods got to the bottom rope. Kingston was tagged in, and they hit Midnight Hour to Jimmy for the near fall. Kingston missed a spring board, and Jimmy hit a super kick then tagged in Jey, who hit a splash off the top rope for a near fall.

The Usos went to both turnbuckles, but Woods knocked Jey off, and Jimmy missed a splash. Kingston hit Trouble in Paradise and Woods hit an elbow drop for the win.

Winners: The New Day

Singles Match: Baron Corbin vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

They started brawling to begin the match. Nakamura landed a series of kicks. Corbin caught him with a big right hand then landed a series of kicks. Corbin locked in a bear hug, but Nakamura locked in a triangle choke, but Corbin got out of it and hit a big boot for 2. Corbin sent him into the floor and the barricade.

Back in the ring, Corbin landed a big strike to the ribs of Nakamura. Corbin locked in a bear hug but Nakamura got out of it and landed a series of kicks. Nakamura put him on the top rope and landed a kick to the gut. Corbin took Nakamura’s head off with a huge clothesline. Corbin followed it up with the Deep Six for 2. Nakamura hit a spinning kick then went for his finisher but Corbin kicked him in the nuts and this one is over.

Winner: Nakamura via DQ.

Post-match, Corbin hit the Ends of Days to Nakamura. He stood tall then walked to the backstage area.

#1 Contender Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match: Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch vs. Lana vs. Natalya vs. Tamina

They all start brawling to begin the match. Natalya rolled up Flair for 2. Lana sent Lynch into the announce table then caught Natalya with a kick and tossed her to the floor. Tamina and Lana double teamed Flair. Lana caught Flair with a kick and covered her for 2. This led to Lynch getting into the ring to help Flair. They hit double powerslams to send Tamina and Lana out of the ring. Lynch and Flair exchange arm drags then Flair hit a neck breaker. Natalya got into the ring and hit a drop kick to Flair for 2. Lynch and Natalya exchanged right hands then Lynch hit a slam to Natalya and Lana. Tamina caught her with a super kick then a samoan drop to Natalya. Flair took out Tamina then went for the Figure Four to Natalya, but Natalya rolled her up for 2 and hit a clothesline. Natalya locked in the Sharpshooter on Flair, but Lana broke it up then covered Flair for 2. Lynch locked in the Disarmer on Lana, but Tamina super kicked Lynch then hit a samoan drop and speared Flair off the apron. Lana pinned Lynch for 2. Lynch locked in the Disarmer on Lana, but Tamina broke it up again. Tamina went for a move, but Lynch blocked it and locked in the Disarmer for the elimination

Elimination: Tamina.

Natalya rolled up Lynch for the elimination.

Elimination: Lynch.

Flair rolled up Natalya for 2. Flair went for the Figure Eight but Natalya reversed and locked in the arm bar, but Flair got out of it and hit a powerbomb for 2. Natalya slammed her into the turnbuckle for the win.

Winner: Natalya

Post-match, Natalya and Naomi had a staredown in the ring. Naomi offered to shake hangs but Natalya declined and walked out of the ring.

WWE United States Championship Match: AJ Styles © vs. Kevin Owens

They lock up, and Styles knocked him down. Owens regrouped outside of the ring. Styles went for a german suplex, but Owens blocked it and landed an elbow, but Styles fired right back with a drop kick. Owens sent him into the barricade and groin first into the ring post. Back in the ring, Owens hit a back splash for 2. Owens locked in a headlock, but Styles attempted to fight out of it with strikes. Styles landed some chops then a big clothesline. Styles with a neck breaker for 2.

Styles went for a springboard 450 splash but Owens put up his knees and Owens pinned him for 2. Owens hit a powerslam for 2. Owens went to the top rope, but Styles knocked him off and hit a spinning powerslam for 2. Styles went to the top rope, but Owens knocked him down. Owens joined him on the top rope, but Styles knocked him down. Styles hit a forearm shot then hit a springboard move, but Owens got out of the ring and knocked him off the apron. Styles caught him with a kick then Owens lifted him up and sent him into the referee. Styles knocked him down and locked in the calf crusher, but Owens reversed it. Owens rolled up Styles and won the championship. It appeared that both men had their shoulders down on the mat.

Winner: Owens – new US Champion.

The Singh Brothers told Jinder Mahal that they won’t be at ringside for his match but they will be waiting for him when he gets backstage as a winner. Mahal vowed to beat Orton and make the Indian people happy.

Flag Match: John Cena vs. Rusev

They started brawling and then both men went for a flag but fell off the top rope. Rusev landed a series of right hands then kicks. Rusev hit a splash in the corner. The fans started booing. Cena with a series of shoulder blocks and hit the five knuckle shuffle then went for the AA but Rusev blocked and hit a spine buster. They battled on the top rope and Cena knocked him down. Cena went for a leg drop, but Rusev caught him with a powerslam. Rusev grabbed his flag. Cena knocked him down and hit the AA. Cena climbed the turnbuckle and went for his flag, but Rusev knocked him down.

Cena tripped him and locked in the STF and Rusev tapped out, but the match continues. Cena grabbed the US flag, but Rusev caught him with a kick. Rusev grabbed his flag, but Cena landed a dive off the apron then sent Rusev into the steel stairs. Cena walked the flag up the stage, but Rusev stopped him and sent him into the stairs. Cena fought back and sent him into the stage. Rusev grabbed two tables and set them up. Rusev taunted him and went for an AA, but Cena blocked and tossed him off the stairs.

Cena grabbed the flag and then they hit a double clothesline. Rusev grabbed the flag holder and hit Cena with it. Rusev locked in the Accolade. Rusev went to plant the flag but Cena stopped him. Rusev connected with a super kick then went for the Accolade but Cena picked him up and hit an AA through the tables. Cena planted the flag for the win.

Winner: Cena

Singles Match: Sami Zayn vs. Mike Kanellis

They lock up, and Zayn sent him to the floor. Zayn went for a dive, but Maria got Mike out of the way. Back in the ring, they exchanged right hands, and Zayn hit a back drop then sent him to the floor. Zayn hit an outside dive.

Zayn hit a powerslam for 2. Maria got into the ring and distracted Zayn. Zayn with a slam then the big boot in the corner for the win.

Winner: Zayn
