UPDATE: Click here for a major update on Lesnar for tonight’s UFC 22 pay-per-view.
ORIGINAL: For everyone that has asked about this, as of now, there is no word on Brock Lesnar entering USADA testing for his return to UFC. As of now, there is nothing on Lesnar since 2016 on the USADA testing website so all signs point to Lesnar not fighting this year. It is looking more like Lesnar was using UFC as leverage, despite Dana White’s insistence that Lesnar wanted to fight again. One of the big matches rumored for Lesnar is a UFC Heavyweight Title match against the winner of the Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Miocic match.
At this point, Lesnar is still not booked for SummerSlam but that could change at any time and it’s all in Vince McMahon’s hands. All of the stuff that WWE has said about contract negotiations hitting a snag is all storyline and Lesnar would gladly return to drop the title.
As first reported by Dave Meltzer, the idea is for Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. We were told that someone in creative pitched the idea of Lesnar vs. Reigns with Lesnar winning and then having Braun Strowman cashing in after the match. That was an idea pitched to Vince McMahon but it’s not clear yet if he wants to go in that direction.
