Brock Lesnar is back in UFC; Will reportedly face Daniel Cormier

Brock Lesnar is back in the UFC. It was made official at UFC 226 when he was seen arriving cageside with UFC President Dana White moments before the main event between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic got started.

Daniel Cormier won out of nowhere in the 1st round with a KO on Stipe Miocic to become the UFC Heavyweight Champion. During the post-fight interview, Cormier called Lesnar into the Octagon. Lesnar walked in and there were a ton of people in there to keep them away from each other but Lesnar got a stiff shove on Cormier. Lesnar then said, “DC, I’m coming for you motherfucker!”

They did not announce a date but MMA reporter Jeremy Botter cited multiple sources saying that Lensar vs. Cormier will take place in November at Madison Square Garden.

Lesnar’s return was kept a secret and UFC did everything to make sure fans did not know that Lesnar was there even though it had leaked before the main event. They had Lesnar hidden backstage during the pay-per-view before he went out to the arena. Lesnar’s name was not listed on the USADA athletes website because they made a point to keep him hidden so that things would be kept a surprise for the pay-per-view.

As of this writing, Lesnar is still not officially booked for SummerSlam but it’s not because of Lesnar. He hasn’t been booked yet because Vince McMahon has not made a decision yet on what to do with the Universal Championship. I would assume that this UFC news would mean that he would have to drop the title by SummerSlam, either to Roman Reigns, Bobby Lashley or Braun Strowman.
