WWE shows not nominated for an Emmy this year

WWE will have to wait until next year if they hope to get on the ballot for an Emmy nomination. Although they were listed on preliminary ballots for the first time, they did not make it into the official nominations for the 9/17 awards show.

Stephanie McMahon was the person behind the push to get WWE considered and they held an event last month in Los Angeles for television executives so that they could be considered for the following categories:

Best Documentary or Non-Fiction Special
WWE 24: Empowered.
Andre the Giant documentary.

Outstanding Structured Reality Program
Mixed Match Challenge.
Monday Night Raw.

Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program:
Total Bellas
Total Divas

Outstanding Variety Special (live)
Wrestlemania 34.

With that being said, they made some progress because WWE had never made it to the preliminary ballot before this year. I am sure they will try harder to get on the official nomination list for next year.
