Mick Foley reveals what bothered him for so long about his legendary HIAC bump

At the King Of The Ring pay-per-view (PPV) in 1998, Mick Foley solidified himself in WWE’s history.

In the midst of his Hell In A Cell (HIAC) match with The Undertaker, Foley took a hellacious bump off the top of the cell and down into the announce table. It has gone down as one of the most infamous moments in professional wrestling history. In fact, now 20 years later, Foley has been conducting a 20 Years of Hell tour.

During a recent interview with Fan Fest to promote the tour, Foley revealed something interesting about the legacy of his HIAC match with Undertaker. He noted that it bothered him for a long time that his HIAC match, out of 30 years of professional wrestling, was what he was most remembered for:

“For a while, it kinda bothered me that that was the only thing people remembered me for,” said Foley. “But as is often the case with iconic characters whether it be Batman or the Fonz, after a while you stop regretting it and realize how lucky you are to be a part of something people remember so fondly.

“(With the anniversary) I’ve had a great time bringing that night back to life on stage and I enjoy talking about it with a lot of people who were not even born when that match took place 20 years ago.”
