Brian Christopher, the son of WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler, was laid to rest on Friday. Many of his friends from the wrestling business and family were in attendance.
His brother Kevin was the first to speak and he talked about how he and his brother started with backyard wrestling at their house.
Jerry was understandably emotional about losing his son but he was gracious enough to take some time to talk to local Memphis TV station ABC 24. Jerry said, “My fiancee Lauren and I are standing next to the casket and I keep looking down almost expecting Brian to sit up and start laughing. It’s just tough. He was an unforgettable character. He never met a stranger and everybody that met Brian loved him.”
Christopher was found hanging in his jail cell on Saturday night and was pronounced dead on Sunday. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating the circumstances of Brian Christopher’s death.
Before the funeral, Jerry described it as the toughest day of his life.
