It is not a guarantee that Brock Lesnar will leave WWE after SummerSlam

At this point, it seems like most are assuming that Brock Lesnar will wrap things up with WWE at SummerSlam and he’ll likely drop the Universal Championship to Roman Reigns or Braun Strowman.

All signs point to Reigns or Strowman leaving SummerSlam as champion but Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter warned fans not to take anything for granted. Although they teased a split between Lesnar and Paul Heyman last week on Raw, there is always a chance that it was a swerve. It could also be a way to keep Heyman with the company while costing Lesnar the Universal Championship.

Meltzer noted that nothing is a lock, even though Lesnar is now being drug tested by USADA. Vince McMahon can spend more to keep Lesnar from leaving and he will go wherever he thinks he can get paid the most. In 2012 when he was 6 years younger, he turned down more money from UFC so he could work the safer limited pro wrestling schedule. He had a deal to return to UFC in 2015 but he decided on signing another WWE contract. Every time he enters talks with UFC and they think a deal has been reached, Lesnar has turned around and signed a new WWE deal.

Most people thought Lesnar would lose at WrestleMania and then he won. Then it was assumed that he would drop the title at the Greatest Royal Rumble and then he won. Don’t assume that he will lose at SummerSlam because money talks and Vince McMahon would love to keep him around.

For whatever it’s worth, Lesnar is advertised for the Raw after SummerSlam in Brooklyn. They could have him leave SummerSlam as champion and then have Strowman cash in on Raw to shock people.
