John Cena’s WWE return date is set

John Cena has been busy out in Hollywood this year and it seems like his days in the wrestling ring are limited. However, Cena still plans on wrestling whenever his schedule permits.

He announced on Twitter that he would be part of the WWE live event taking place in Shanghai, China on September 1st. That would be his first match since the Greatest Royal Rumble in late April. Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Ronda Rousey, Seth Rollins, and Finn Balor are some of the other top names advertised for the show.

At this point, there is nothing on WWE television hinting at a match for him at SummerSlam so the chances of a rematch with The Undertaker appear to be slim.

Cena is also scheduled to wrestle on the Super Show-Down pay-per-view happening at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia on Saturday, October 6.

In addition to movies and media appearances, Cena is currently in a very public on-again-off-again relationship with Nikki Bella. There’s been a lot of skepticism but Dave Meltzer reports that there is some truth and there was a real break-up and there was supposed to be a wedding in May. However, much of what has played out in public has been done to help the ratings for Total Bellas and people close to Bella and Cena have been sworn to secrecy on what is really going on behind-the-scenes.

As we reported a few days ago, both Cena and Bella were seen on vacation just a couple of weeks ago and that was after Bella said that she was working on herself. We’ll see what happens in a few months when the next season of Total Bellas kicks off on the E! Network.
