Sam Adonis, the brother of WWE announcer Corey Graves, has issued an apology for what went down this weekend at RevPro’s show. According to multiple fan reports, Adonis used homophobic slurs as part of Donald Trump supporter gimmick. His promo caused fans to turn their backs on him and some chanted “don’t come back” at him. One fan in attendance told us that he called fans at ringside “fa**ots” before promoter Andy Quildan got in the ring to offer an apology.
Quildan also posted a statement on Twitter on Sunday:
Official statement will come tomorrow but to reiterate what I said at the show. I’m sorry. Pro Wrestling is a beautiful thing and sadly tonight we saw an ugly side of it. I’m happy to answer anyone’s concerns/questions & trust me when I say I’m just as disappointed as you guys.

However, Adonis took issue with some of the outrage online and stated that he his comments were just part of his gimmick and fans should just enjoy the ride and wait for the story to unfold.

Parrow, an openly-gay wrestler who wrestles for the EVOLVE promotion, said that he spoke to Adonis about his comments:
I made comment on @RealSamAdonis twitter before I knew he used terrible insensitive #lgbt word towards the crowd we have since spoke I believe he understands it was wrong,Why people in my own community are now upset with me Id rather educate peers why it’s wrong then attack them

On Monday, Adonis changed his tune and he issued the following statement:
“I am truly sorry to anyone that I have upset with my in ring actions at Revolution Pro in London yesterday. Sam Adonis is a Fictional Character that I portray in the realm of Pro Wrestling. My lack of judgement lead me to believe that offensive comments would be accepted as entertainment in the 18+ venue in which I was performing. These are not my personal beliefs and I am ashamed of letting the fans down.”

This controversy might explain why Corey Graves decided to leave social media on Sunday.
