New Japan Pro Wrestling will take “disciplinary action” against Tama Tonga. NJPW cites inappropriate conduct from their star for the decision.
Since splitting up from The Bullet Club, Tonga has been picking up steam on social media. Most notably, Tonga engaged in a Twitter beef with Roman Reigns.
NJPW didn’t specify what exactly led to the decision to discipline Tonga, but it should be noted that Tweets insulting fans in which he used profane language have been deleted. At a recent G1 card, Tonga even grabbed a fan by the throat after a match. The incident with the fan was not part of the show.
Here’s NJPW’s statement on their decision to discipline Tonga:
“NJPW takes actions taken by our wrestlers seriously. In light of recent inappropriate conduct by Tama Tonga including SNS usage, the company has decided to take disciplinary actions against said wrestlers, and will issue updated guidelines to all wrestlers.”
