The Miz has accepted Daniel Bryan’s challenge for WWE SummerSlam. Miz was teasing a SummerSlam announcement for Smackdown Live but apparently, Vince McMahon changed his mind and decided to have Miz accept the match via a YouTube video.
This comes after Miz said last week that he didn’t think Bryan deserved the match. This storyline is playing off their history that began several years ago during the original incarnation of NXT when Miz was Bryan’s “coach” on the show. Things picked up a couple of years ago after a heated altercation on Talking Smack. Bryan has said that he would love a long-term program with Miz that would culminate at WrestleMania but he didn’t trust the writers to stick with it for so long.
As of this writing, Bryan has not signed a new WWE deal so SummerSlam could be his final pay-per-view with the company.
