Ronda Rousey reveals what Vince McMahon told her before her WrestleMania match

Ronda Rousey was interviewed by Justin Barrasso for Sports Illustrated to talk about her run in WWE and her goals.

Rousey said that she wants to be in the main event of WrestleMania. If it happens then she would be the first woman to achieve that feat. “It’s definitely a goal of mine to be one of the first women to headline WrestleMania,” said Rousey. “But who that would be against or even if that would be a possibility is yet to be seen.”

Charlotte Flair has also said that her goal is to main event at WrestleMania. Perhaps we’ll see Flair vs. Rousey closing out WrestleMania 35?

Rousey impressed fans and fellow wrestlers at WrestleMania with her performance and she exceeded expectations. Before her match, she revealed what Vince McMahon told her. “I usually walk out and I’m all business, but Vince specifically told me to go out and allow myself to feel everything that I was feeling and not hide anything,” Rousey said. “And not to try and go out and be the tough girl, but to allow myself to smile, to enjoy it because, according to Vince, when I smile the whole world wants to hug me.”

On a related note, Paul Heyman read that last part and said this on Twitter:

Rousey also talked about having to practice her “mean face,” her commercials for Twizzlers, and more. Click here to check out the full interview.

It’s certainly possible that Rousey will main event next year’s WrestleMania but first she needs to get through the Raw Women’s Championship match with Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam and she will likely be in one of the top matches at the WWE Evolution pay-per-view in October.
