Matt Hardy health update

Matt Hardy has continued to post tweets that hint at his retirement from wrestling. In one of his recent tweets, he said that the final chapter of a book should not be approached with sadness. “Approach it with an appreciation for the enjoyment that you’ve obtained from it, as well as the excitement that comes from beginning a new, different book,” Hardy said.

In a tweet posted over the weekend, he said that his lower back and pelvis have started to fuse together. That led to more retirement speculation.

Here is the situation with Hardy, as reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Basically, he is in pain but it’s not terrible pain but the pain is frustrating for him and he is going to start a new training rehab that could help. If that does not work then he might need to take some time off. Hardy realizes that his career is winding down and he wants to keep his body in one piece so he can play with his kids. At this point, it seems like a lighter schedule would benefit him. WWE seems to have relaxed their stance on wrestlers working a full-time schedule. Rey Mysterio, for example, is in talks to return and has said that he would only wrestle limited house show dates. Daniel Bryan has said the same and the belief is that he will get what he wants on his new deal. Nia Jax has been given time off to rest her body and there are other examples of wrestlers being given time off this year.

Jeff Hardy is also beat up but he is scheduled to challenge for the United States Championship at SummerSlam and he is advertised for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view in September so there are no signs that he will be taking time off.
