Earlier today, there was a rumor on social media that spread like wildfire about Smackdown Live Superstar Asuka. The rumor claimed that she walked out on WWE last Tuesday after a heated meeting with WWE officials because she was unhappy about missing out a big payday for SummerSlam. The story also claimed that she stopped returning calls. The claim online was that it was a story reported by Mike Johnson from PWInsider.
Johnson never reported this and the story is 100 percent false. In fact, there were some tentative plans for her at SummerSlam but, as is usually the case in WWE, plans change. Asuka is currently advertised locally for this Tuesday’s Smackdown Live in what will likely be another dark match.
The reason why she hasn’t been seen much on TV in recent weeks is that she is the victim of the overcrowded roster. Unless WWE decides to release some wrestlers, you can expect to see the certain wrestlers off TV for a few weeks. It’s a good thing in the sense that it keeps some wrestlers from getting stale but not so great because it also means that some wrestlers are left off big pay-per-views. Asuka should be back soon, perhaps as soon as the Smackdown after SummerSlam.
Again, there is no truth to the stories claiming that she walked out.
