Some of the key moments of Daniel Bryan’s WWE career will be featured in WWE 2K19 Showcase mode.
WWE announced today that fans will be able to recreate selected matches and they will be asked to complete specific objectives that will unlock playable characters, special arenas, attires, championship titles and more.
2K Showcase will include 12 unique matches. 1 of those 12 matches will be a “surprise battle” and there will be “nine historic arenas” featured prominently from his WWE career, including the venues from WrestleMania XXX and Velocity.
Bryan wanted to include moments from his time in Ring Of Honor but that is obviously not possible since WWE does not own that footage.
This announcement has fans wondering if this means Bryan has signed a new WWE deal. Dave Meltzer has been all over the story and noted on the Wrestling Observer Forum that he had not signed a deal as of the last time he checked.
The deal with 2K doesn’t mean anything for his WWE deal because this video game deal with Bryan was something that was planned months ago and it’s not something they are going to scrap even if he doesn’t sign a deal because of the amount of work that went into 2K Showcase. The 2K deal was done separately from WWE.
Meltzer noted that the situation with Bryan is very complicated and even if he doesn’t sign, he doesn’t think Bryan is going anywhere and he’ll just continue to work on the terms of his existing contract.
