The 1,000th episode of Smackdown Live is scheduled for Tuesday, October 16th and they have already announced some big matches, via the Capitol One Arena website.
– AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe for the WWE Championship
– Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz
– Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton
Of course, the card is subject to change but it’s a sure bet that they will do everything possible to load that show up with top matches and major names from the past.
Smackdown first aired as a television special on the UPN Network on April 29, 1999. The ratings were great for the network so the decision was made to launch it as a weekly series on Thursday nights. The show bounced around to different networks over the years before eventually landing on the USA Network. It will move to FOX next year as part of a massive television deal.
