WWE has been considering a heel turn for a top star

Asuka has been noticeably absent from WWE television in recent weeks because there was no storyline in place for her and it’s tough to fit everyone on a 2-hour show every week. She is the latest victim of the crowded roster. She has been wrestling at live events and dark matches but it seems like her momentum has stalled since her streak was broken at WrestleMania and from her losses to Carmella.

Thankfully, there are plans for her. According to Sunday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, there has been talk of turning Asuka heel and it could happen soon. “I can just tell you there’s been talk of her turning. We’ll see,” said Dave Meltzer.

Asuka posted this photo on Friday that some people took as a hint that she could be turning heel soon:

He added, “I’ve heard that she might turn so maybe that will spruce her up. They actually do have plans for her so maybe everything will change. Since the WrestleMania match, she’s been booked real bad because she was in that Carmella feud that she had to lose and the way she lost just made her look terrible in both of those matches.”

Asuka can put on great matches if she is allowed to but it seems like she’s had to tone down her style so that her opponents can keep up with her. Now would be the time to do something meaningful with her and she should be in one of the big matches at the Evolution pay-per-view. As of now, we don’t know what she will be doing on that show but WWE already has plans for two big matches featuring returning Superstars. Trish Stratus is scheduled to return to face Alexa Bliss and another big name is returning to face Ronda Rousey. WWE has yet to announce the match but you can click here if you don’t mind spoilers.
